Toilet Bombs
I recently purchased a new book, Make It Fizz A Guide to Making Bathtub Treats, by Holly Port from The Lotion Bar Cafe. A recipe for potty bombs was in the book. I had to make it up. It is basically baking soda, citric acid, peroxide, vinegar, and essential oil. I placed 2 essential oils and one fragrance oil in mine. Mostly I used lime essential oil and lemon verbena fragrance oil. I added a little green sparkle mica in mine and some vanilla bean specks. The original molds are about 1.5 X 1.5 X .75. These are a little larger than I would like due to the width of the jar top. I also don't want to have someone break the bath bomb into two pieces. The second ones I placed into lemon/lime ice cube tray molds. These work better. The user can always put two into a toilet bowl if one is not enough. I am going to laminate the labels and tie them on the top. I wanted to make something for men to use. I know this doesn't sound like a Father's Day gift, but many men live alone and I think they would enjoy this. How many
Weekend Plans
I had such plans for the weekend. A three-day-weekend! Lots of extra time. Well, that is what I thought until my hives spread, and spread, and spread. I think half of my body had hives. I never itched so bad in my life. I ended up in the ER where they gave me more Benadryl and added Prednisone and Pepcid. I couldn't go to work after the weekend, after all, I looked contagious! I don't have any idea what caused the hives, but I have been working in the yard pulling weeds, cutting volunteer trees down, etc. I used calamine lotion, medicated lotion, and spray alcohol to help with the itch. None of these really helped. I feel like someone has beat me and drug me. I hope you had a better weekend.

Make way for goslings at Southlake Village!
When I photograph some of my pictures, I take the photos outside. This is my set up. At this time, there is an extra piece on the table, courtesy of the kids.
The peony bush is beginning to bloom. I have a couple other bushes, but this one is my favorite color!!!

Birthday Party
My son Dylan, Glenn, and Hope had a birthday party at All Star Sports. Tracy Hawley made the two cakes which were requested by the kids. I really enjoyed the helmet cake. It was white and that is my favorite!!! I am attaching some of the pictures of the party and of course the cakes. One of the cute things that happened today was when Bruce said, "Yes Sir Ree Bob,"when he was talking to Rosie. She piped up, "My name is Rosie, not Bob." It was priceless! I should mention that all of the kids have attended Chisholm Life Skills School. The students have varied disabilities, some with learning disability and others with behavior issues. Most of the kids have made friends for life at the school. They do not care if his or her friend has the same physical and mental capabilities as they do. They think everyone has something to offer in his or her friendship.. We all had a good time!

Just for fun.....Joy modified her bed. She has an Easter chick toy and a piece of plastic, along with her long tailed toy. It just tickled me when I saw it the other day.

Our Baby Chicks
We have not named any of the new chicks except for one. The show girl we thought needed a name like a dancer. We named her Diamond.
This is a little gray frizzle. |
