Whipped Pina Colada Body Butter

I finally took the plunge and made whipped body butter.  It only has a few ingredients, but it is heavenly.  I am planning on making a few more and testing the recipes.  This recipe calls for: cocoanut oil, shea butter, rice bran oil, vitamin E, Pina Colada fragrance oil, yellow mica, and cosmetic grade glitter.

In the winter my skin is so dry.  I think the butter comes on a bit oily, even though my skin soaks it up.  In the next batch I want to try and tweak the oily look.

Beard Oil

I made beard oil last week.  Beard oil is usually a blend of oils and essential oils made to moisturize the skin and keep the beard soft, styled, and healthy looking.   Many men have itchy skin under their lovely beards.   Since 2006 beard oil has become extremely popular, but mostly available in male boutique stores and on-line.

3 men are using the beard oil I made.  One is using it for his dry forearms.  One is using it for his goatee.  The third man has a full beard about 8 inches long.  All 3 of the men love the fragrance.  The man with the full beard says he uses the oil twice a day.  The beard is shiny just after putting it on, but the beard soaks it up.  He says the beard is much softer too.

I used the recipe from Bramble Berry Soap Making Supplies. http://www.brambleberry.com/Moisturizing-Mahogany-Beard-Oil-Kit-P5982.aspx

The oil Ingredients are Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Buckthorn Extract, and Mahogany Fragrance Oil

I personally do not like the Mahogney fragrance, but everyone else does.

If you are looking for a Valentine gift for a man, this may be what you are looking for.

New sales pitch:   Keep those fly away hairs down and tame that mighty beast by using Beard Taming Oil from Custer Cottage.  LOL

My Jars Arrived!

My new purple ball jars arrived!!!  They are only available through mail order at this time, but they will be in stores in 2-3 months.  They look brighter purple in sunlight.  This purple should go with most purple shades.  This fabric color has more of an antique purple shade and it blends well.

Easy knitted hat

At times you just want to knit and not use 4 knitting needles to make something round such as a hat.  The seam usually shows too much so most people prefer to knit in the round using 4 needles.  I made a stocking cap on 2 needles (flat knitting).

I learned to clap.

Then  I sewed the seam and gathered it.  Once that was done I added bling (netting, buttons feathers).  I used a mohair and silk yarn.

Dingleberries

Every once and a while I get a wild hair (pardon the pun) and make dingleberry soap.  It is a gag gift, but it looks great!  I put juniper berries in the soap, so people will probably not think of what dingleberries are when they first see the soap.  Once they think about it, they may realize what most of us refer to as dingleberries.  (The poop tags on butt hairs most commonly referred to in animals)  I like to use melt and pour clear soap base.  Once the base is melted, I add a pretty mica, a nice fragrance, some juniper berries (they will probably float instead of sink), and a little piece of clean sheep wool.

Last time I made these, I made them for a male audience and colored them with green mica and used a more manly-like
fragrance.  This time, I aimed for anyone, but used my favorite color---pink.  Most of my clients are women and they do buy for men.

Dingleberry Soap

I thought I would include a couple of other photos since we are in a pink mode.  LOL

New headband for grand-daughter--peachy-pink color

A headband for a baby not yet born.  You can't see the netting, but there is a little behind the flower.

An apple a day soap picture.

I thought I would share with you my new clothes pin container. I placed a decal of  this cute picture on the front of an old jar.  The little girl in the picture is hanging up clothes.  What better place to put clothespins when you do not use them often?
