Toilet Bomb Update

Findings and Updates:
:
  • I found that the toilet bombs turned a golden color so the ascorbic acid probably bleached the green mica to golden color.  I still like the toilet bombs in the new green Ball jars though.
  • The green Ball lids set off the green Ball Jars.  When I was canning more, I found that Ball jars seemed to be sturdier than Kerr jars but Kerr jars had more flat space to place labels on the jar outer walls.
  •  I experimented with the color of the Drop A Bomb tags.  Originally they were brown with a little pink underlining.  Probably that color is appropriate.  LOL  I ran out of ink so I did not get the tags completed and laminated for the photo, but you can see the almost finished product.
  • The lemons fall apart much easier than the larger squares, but the squares do not fit into narrow mouth jars without some alterations.
  • I placed a paper doily in the bottom of the jar, but I think green paper shreds or left over Easter grass would work fine.
  • I was able to place 25 lemons into each jar and each lemon is approximately 1/2 ounce, so it equals out to be 12.5 ounces of product per jar.
  • The newer the product, the more fizz it made.
  • The fragrance is lovely.  The kids that can't smell body odor think this fragrance is strong.  LOL
  • I would not mind having this in powdered form with a scoop for me.  Just a thought.....This way I can use more or less, depending on how bad the toilet is.  A few years ago, I saw a show about cheap people and a man used baking soda and vinegar to clean his toilets.  Think about this, most people have played with this when making a volcano experiment.  It works well....
