Thank you. The only negative I have received is someone wanting a paste to keep his beard in position. I haven't made one that way yet, but coconut oil and bee wax would be two of the components.

Which oil is the best for beards?

Jim, There are several good oils for beards. I used jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil, sunflower oil, and walnut kernel oil. If you would be making this for you, I would research each oil and what qualities each has, then tweak the amounts to fit your individual skin. This is a lighter oil that helps with dry skin and a dry beard. If you are wanting something thicker with more of a styling ability, I would suggest to add a wax and some coconut oil.

Thank you Jacob. I don't see any reason not to share information. Some people in my groups don't want to give new or inexperienced soap makers any information because they learned learned through trial and error, researched ingredients, suppliers, molds, additives, etc. They only share at the cost of $29.95 and up. I may not share my my best recipes, but other than that, I share. LOL

Whats the difference between body lotion and body butter?
shampoo

I'll Pour said...

Lotion may contain water or other liquid along with the oils/fats/butters. They also contain an emulsifier for mixing these ingredients together so they do not separate. Butters are usually thick oils that do not contain the liquids. To make a good body butter, I use shea butter, coconut oil, sunflower oil, fragrance oil, and a tad bit of tapioca flour to help with the greasy feel. These items are melted and then whipped using a stand mixer. I hope that answers your question.

What's the difference between powder laundry detergent and liquid?

Many of us prefer to have liquid laundry liquid because it dissolves in water better. Powder may not mix up as well and may leave little powder globs on clothes.
